Medicine Ball Training

Power development for throwers is often limited to Olympic lifting and plyometric drills. In recent years medicine ball training has made a comeback to become an integral part of training for any athlete interested in power development. The development of a wide range of both elastic and no-elastic medicine balls has re-popularized a long lost technique. For throwers the opportunity to develop rotational power is the primary benefit of medicine…

Earned. Not Giving.

Now that I received the great news regarding my right shoulder I will incorporate Tom House Shoulder DVD exercises for the next 10 to 14 days as part of my Long Drive Workouts.

Once I feel my shoulder is pain free, I will begin to increase the intesity of my training.

I also received the rest of my Labs results and past everything with AWESOME colors. Regarding nutrition everything is going super well. A Flan here and there but overall is very good. I will forward my…

Earned. Not Giving.

Last Wednesday after I received therapy and a double shot of Traumeel on my sore right shoulder I decided to rest the last four days. Traumeel is a natural substance that can provide healing, reduce inflammation and pain, helping to speed recovery from injuries to soft tissues such as muscle, tendon and ligaments. So far my shoulder is feeling a little better but if pain doesn't go away by next Wednesday I will go and get an MRI.

Rest of my workouts such as cardio, stretching,…

Earned. Not Giving.

On Monday October 4th. I had the opportunity to meet my new coach Gabriel Lopez and invested three days of physical training and evaluations. After we finished I learn a lot about myself and the areas I have to correct and improve if I want to win The Remax World Long Drive Championship in 2011.

Last year was my first year competing in the Remax Long Drive Circuit and made it to the World Championship in Mesquite, Nevada.

This year I was looking forward to go back to…

Golf... Getting Back To Basics

I love golf and enjoy walking too. However I've discovered since I'm older I get sore carrying my bag. I tried riding in a cart but just couldn't get my stride, it just wasn't the same as walking I felt in a hurry. Then I tried using a push cart and this was good while I got to walk again and I did get my stride back, but found I was getting tired pushing my cart up all the hills on my course. So when one of my golf buddies showed up with an electric… Continue

The Price of Success – 3 Key Ingredients Towards the Achievement of Your Dreams

Belief

Having witnessed and studied successful people throughout my life, it has always intrigued me as to what separates success from mediocrity. Fitness and Golf

To be honest, I never really considered the fitness aspect of golf, but it is extremely important. Last year at the Masters hospitality tent, the recurring theme was that the golfer in the best shape will make the late round shots consistently. I think Tiger Woods was a good example of this. He was in great shape until his knee gave out, and then struggled until he regained that… Continue

Ways of Working

There are two ways of working worth noting and comparing, for they often times factor more into the quality of a person's life than any other variable.

The first way of working is commonly depicted in popular television shows and pop songs like "Working for the Weekend." From the big picture down to the small details, work is an unpleasant necessity of survival. Retiring in the shortest amount of time with savings sufficient…

Standards - The Source of Success

In life, I believe all success first starts with the mind. So, before I can help you improve your golf game, I need to let you know about a few timeless laws that have contributed to every achievement that I have had over the past 15 years.

I believe that everyone lives, acts and breathes according to their standards. How you prepare and play golf, how much money you make, what your relationships look like, as well as what your body looks like, are all a direct reflection of your… Continue

Finding inspiration

The inspirational quotes and posts are much appreciated Gabriel! It's so easy to forget our purposes, and that much harder to find and maintain them. Your post about experiencing Japan reminded me how important it is to surround ourselves with positive people who remind us who we are and truly want to be. Here are some quotes that provide me a dose of focus when I find myself off track:)

My 5 Gifts in Los Angeles on Thanksgiving

I am in LA right now with Vijay. This is the first Thanksgiving that I will be away from my family. For the past two years, I have sponsored a family for Thanksgiving. It has been a beautiful, rewarding experience every time. Tonight, on the eve of Thanksgiving, I decided to help some people in need here in LA.

I was driving near Santa Montica Boulevard looking for people to help. After some time driving, I saw a man sitting outside a Boston Market on a bench. I pulled my SUV over to… Continue
