Scott,

Thank you for your question. We use the broom drills as part of our off season training. Yes, we train at great lengths with lighter objects that are just above and below Vijay's driver weight. The heavy swing movements are very advanced movements. I would not recommend them to a person until they have had at least 3-6 months of consistent strength training as well as having a body that is totally pain free. Have your clients start off by swinging a driver that has a few ounces of lead tape added to it which will make it heavier. Add more tape to increase weight as desired. For further resistance, swinging a weighted heavy driver is the next level. We use the Momentus Power Hitter heavy driver. Hope that helps! Gabe

Gabriel,
I like this drill with the broom. Do you use this daily as a part of your warm-up program? Also, do you perform any swings with light objects for speed improvement. Seems to me that you like resisted swing drills and even swing heavy objects, but I have not seen any light objects. I have some concerns about the heavy objects, especially kettlebell throws and the sledgehammer. I am a physical therapist and my main goal is to train clients without creating injuries. How strong should the client be before attempting these heavy swing movements in order to avoid a shoulder or back injury? How can I tell if they are ready? Thanks Scott
